Global Product Manager - Spidermite Controlling Mites
40 hours per week, Location: Berkel en Rodenrijs, Netherlands
What will you do as Global Product Manager?
As a Global Product Manager at Koppert, you will be responsible for optimizing the product portfolio focused on spidermite-controlling mites to unlock its full market potential globally. In this role, you will:
- Translate market needs into product development proposals.
- Define business opportunities in close collaboration with Crop Managers for product/market combinations that target spidermites in key crops.
- Develop and implement action plans after management approval of your proposals.
- Collaborate with teams across Global Marketing, R&D, Production, and Supply Chain to launch new products and optimize existing ones.
- Functionally lead regional and local product leads, and support Product Communication and Business Support specialists.
- Provide technical expertise on products to both internal and external stakeholders.
A typical day as Global Product Manager
A typical day as a Global Product Manager starts with a meeting with the Crop Management team to align on current market trends and needs. Afterward, you might work on refining a product development proposal and collaborate with R&D to ensure the feasibility of the product roadmap. Later in the day, you meet with the Regulatory Affairs team to ensure that new product launches comply with local regulations. You finish the day by preparing a report on market opportunities and aligning with regional leads to strategize product launch activities in new markets.
What does the department look like?
You will be part of the Category Management Team within the Global Marketing department, which consists of several specialized teams, including Product Management, Crop & Market Development, Regulatory Affairs, Licensing & Partnership, Communication, and more. The Product Management team drives the development, market launches, and continuous improvement of Koppert’s portfolio to meet market needs. As part of this dynamic and collaborative team, you will work closely with various departments to ensure successful product launches and portfolio optimization.
Who are you?
To be successful as a Global Product Manager within Koppert, you bring the following qualities:
- An MSc in Plant Sciences, Agronomy, Agribusiness, or an MBA with a specialization in strategic marketing. Education in a field of agriculture and agronomical background is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the crop protection industry, with an affinity for macro-biology and bio-insecticides.
- Proven experience in new business and product development, as well as innovation marketing processes.
- Strong ability to conduct market research, develop branding and pricing strategies, and implement product roadmaps.
- Experience in steering interdepartmental project teams and collaborating in a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment.
- A proven track record of developing and implementing strategies to maximize product value.
- Excellent communication and networking skills, with the ability to inspire and lead.
- Energetic, driven, ambitious, and persuasive, with a willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
